The Nauvoo pageant came to town in July and once again, the Johnsons were able to be in the family cast. They were only here for one week this year, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

Here are most of the Johnson children. Morgan was home with Grandpa.

We took a tour of the tinshop one day while Marianne and Robert were at the Temple.

We also toured the post office.

Pioneer Pastimes wins the prize as my grandchildren's favorite site. The younger children all love it. Carolina dressed up as a pioneer.

This is a fun toy that you flip a beanbag into the air and try to catch it on the can on the other side of the board.

There are two buildings at Pioneer Pastimes--a log house and a log school. Carolina is trying out the slate board at the school. It is real slate.

My favorite home in Nauvoo is the Brigham Young home. My favorite room in the home is the Council Room. I can just imagine Brigham and the Apostles meeting there after Joseph's death. There is such a spirit there.

While the Johnsons were here we did the Trail of Hope with the pageant core cast. We ended up at the River.

The Johnsons had responsibilities at the Country Fair which is held each night at 7:00 before the pageant. They did a great job.

Clarissa and Hyrum were part of the band which played for the round dancing. They sounded great. It was an honor for them to get into the band. They may have preferred dancing though. They did a great service.

Deseret's job was to get people to dance. Who could do that better than Desi? I'm sure she made this little guy's day.

The rest of the Johnson family was in charge of the handcart rides. Liberty gave out beads to everyone who did handcarts. I'm sure her smile made everyone happy.

Morgan helped with the handcarts. On his down time he played with a new toy he'd gotten.

The Broughs had a day off when the Johnsons came to dinner. Elder Brough is sitting with Carolina with a lily pad on her head. Elder Brough took some turns with it on his head too.

This year, the Johnsons were in the gold cast which meant they were in the finale of the pageant.

What a wonderful pageant it was! I attended as often as I could. If I hadn't had other responsibilities I would have been there watching it every night. It is the best time to come to Nauvoo. I'm so thankful I could see it for two years. We're so glad the Johnsons could participate this year.

During July we had a wonderful visit with Enoch & Jennifer & family. They visited us in Nauvoo.

The American Lotus (Lily pads) have been slower to bloom this year. They are finally started to bloom now--end of July. There is a lot more foliage too.

The Young Performing missionaries do a vignette called Youth of Zion at the Corner of Main and Kimball. It is great. They talk about the Whistling and Whittling Brigade and about the Rawlings sisters who saved the pages of the Doctrine & Covenants.

The Wagon Ride that they took was old home week. Elder Dahl and Elder Brough were the teamsters and I was the narrator.

The kids favorite things to do in Nauvoo was visiting Pioneer Pastimes. It is a fun place with a log cabin, log school, and lost of pioneer games and toys. There are pioneer dressup clothes too.
